Frozen Embryo Transfer Procedure

Frozen embryo transfer procedure 👶 or FET is a form of assisted reproductive technology , which allows the transfer of previously frozen embryo or embryos into the uterus.

Reasons for frozen embryo cycle

The use of frozen embryos is usually chosen when a couple is planning to use a surrogate, as it gives the couple time to choose a surrogate, the freedom to choose when to have their baby.

The IVF process with frozen embryos also protects against age-related risks of having a baby.

IVF with frozen embryos gives infertile couples a chance to have a healthy child even if previous IVF attempts have failed due to infertility or incompatibility, or miscarriage.

Frozen embryo transfer step by step

Obtaining frozen embryos

1

The timeline of the FET procedure starts with getting embrions. IVF procedure is usually used for this purpose. IVF with frozen embryo transfer  is also provided by our company.

Follicle development monitoring

2

Fet procedure does not require the surrogate mother to take fertility drugs, estrogen injections or any form of fertility stimulation. It is done as part of a woman's natural cycle. Thus it does not increase risks of side effects like ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. However embryo implantation may only take place during ovulation, a special phase of the female monthly cycle of surrogate mother. Inasmach as the exact timing of this phase shows great individual variability, it is important not to get attached to any specific calendar. To ensure the most precise determination of the right moment, the center's physician performs a transvaginal ultrasound scan.

LH surge monitoring

3

Shortly before ovulation, there is a dramatic increase in luteinizing hormone levels. Therefore, physicians add a luteinizing hormone level analysis for the highest accuracy as ovulation approaches.

Documenting Ovulation

4

Sometimes after an LH surge, the follicle containing the egg does not open and ovulation does not occur. In this case, special medications like methylprednisolone and doxycycline can be used to stimulate ovulation in this case.

Embryo transfer

5

According to our clinic's statistics, the success rate of an embryo  freezing thawing procedure is 60-70%. Usually 1-2 embryos are transferred, which reduces the risk of multiple pregnancies. The implantation procedure itself is similar to IVF. A thin catheter is gently inserted into the uterus and the embryos are transferred with a small amount of fluid. The whole procedure is monitored by ultrasound, which increases the reliability of the procedure.

Pregnancy Test

6

After 14 days, the pregnancy test confirms the success of the procedure and on the 21st day, the heartbeat can be detected by ultrasound check.

Create U Future takes care of the pregnancy all the way to delivery.
